Hi all,
JDK 8 has gone into preview phase. You have to rename
Code: | mv oracle-jdk-bin-1.7.env oracle-jdk-bin-1.8.env |
in the $FILES directory, and I have no idea if the +jce USE flag works. Naming the ebuild oracle-jdk-bin-1.8.0_beta.ebuild works, just changing file/directory names is enough to get a working java installation (netbeans starts). Enjoy!

Thanks for the ebuild, I used it to install jdk-8-ea-bin-b109-linux-x64-26_sep_2013.tar.gz
only issue I had was when copying the ebuild off the forum all lines ending \ had an extra space on the end causing the ebuild to not process correctly.
Now I have a working eclipse beta with JDK8 support: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/articles/java/lambda-1984522.html _________________ m00bie |
