I have a virtualbox image I have obtained with relatively few network configuration options. What I need to do is send all of the traffic coming from the guest machine (not just http) through a proxy - for the sake of simplicity, let's call it http://localhost:10000/).

I don't know of any way to do that with virtualbox (if there is such a way, tell me), so I am wondering if it is possible with something like iptables. If so, how would I do it? One thing that confuses me is that I don't even see vboxnet0 in the list of interfaces given by ifconfig, even when the virtual machine is running (it USED to appear when virtualbox was running, but that was many kernel and virtualbox versions ago).

Thanks in advance for any help.
