I've tried and tried to compile this blasted package on my PE1750 and my ML370, but it won't go through.
Code:

I have NEVER had this issue before. I was wondering what possibly changed or should I use an older ebuild.

An idea is to try adding a line something like:

Code:
ABI_X86="32 64"

To /etc/portage/make.conf.

Where the "32 64" is the list of architectures that you want, you might just want "32" of "64".

I already tried that and it still says the same error.

If I revert the changes in the ebuild, it works for me.

Yep. I just did it and it compiled without issues.

What was DEFAULT_ABI supposed to do anyway?

It's a trick for multilib systems, a step to have non-binary 32bit blobs ;)
