Looking for App To Make Audio Samples From Blu Ray Movie

I have the movie HotTub Time Machine on blu ray. I want to take audio samples from it out to use on my phone as rightones and message alerts. Is there a program in Linux to do this?

Use mplayer/vlc to dump the audio, then use audacious to cut out the audio.

I've used audacious for years. How do you use it to cut audio?
