Hello,
I just recently started looking at how to run a Forex trading platform like xStation of XTB. I have all Gentoo updates (distro is Sabayon). The problem is Firefox and Chromium don't seem to work with these web browsers. I have seen this on Windows 8 and there must be some incompatibility problem. Also some webinars cannot be displayed and the requested version is Adobe Flash Player version 11.2.202.297.
First I wanted to ask, does anyone trade on Forex and what platform do you use with Gentoo or Sabayon?
Second, how can I override the package manager and install the latest version of Flash? Normally in other distros they come with a .tar or .rpm.
Regards,
Richard

Hi,
thanks. I recently had a lot of updates on my Sabayon installation. It seems that some forex platforms don't work nicely with the Linux/Firefox combination. I signed up with a UK version of the XTB platform and it works, although when opening other web sites or navigating to other web browsers cause them to freeze or cause display problems, the contents of the web sites become affected with artefacts and you have to close and reopen the web browser to work with XTB's xStation. The only decent web site that truly works smoohtely is on www.ig.co.uk .
Regards,
Richard |
