I've installed Fluxbox + SLiM. Running startx works great, X and Fluxbox start up as expected.

Unfortunately, logging in from SLiM dumps me out to the login prompt at the console.

My configuration is as cach0rr0 describes in this topic: https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-951578-highlight-slim+fluxbox.html

The only error I can find is in the slim.log:

slim: waiting for X server to begin accepting connections.
slim: open_session: Unable to open session: Failed to connect to socket /var/run/dbus/system_bus_socket: No such file or directory

But I don't know what to do with that info.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks!
Cale

As Root:
Code:
/etc/init.d/dbus start
rc-update add dbus default
rc-update del xdm default && rc-update add xdm default
/etc/init.d/xdm restart
