I thought the US was the pinnacle of the free market world? I told you capitalism as we know it is dead.

No, an excellent point was made. As I said before. Capitalism as we know it is dead.

No. It's more like recompiling a new kernel. You need to edit it then turn it off then back again

Everything "as we know it" has always been dead. Capitalism is growing rapidly. Russia, India, and China are rapidly becoming capitalist. The U.S. doesn't need you to tell us we are becoming communists and have our government deep in the ass of our economy any more than you need us to tell you that you have bad teeth and are the ugliest breed in Europe. We're aware of the problem, thank you.

It was probably caused by the recent fallout from the Ricer Gnomes screwing up virtual/udev.

Wait, the US economy is classified as capitalist? Corporate fascist is a much better description, in my opinion.

It's hard to argue that a system is capitalist when there's a central bank manipulating interest rates and inflating the currency and the State can't keep track of how many pages are in the federal register.

People are used to it being about two-thirds capitalist and one-third socialist. Now we're about half and half, so call it what you want. Our most notable characteristic is no longer economic, it's social, that being our sudden pole vault into the land of balls-out authoritarianism.
