Hi
I am trying to build a live usb system by using the genkernel initrd.
I got my live root squashed and ready to go, now i tried cd_root option and cd_marker but it doenst work. is there a documentation about the options and how the files need to be arranged?

here is the kernel command line. its a pitty this isnt clearly documented
and i've added an empty file called "livecd" to the root directory
root=/dev/ram0 loop=/loopfile.squashfs looptype=squashfs aufs cdroot
and i had to build aufs and squashfs into the kernel as genkernel does not seem to load the module |

Hi,
its been a long time since i've done these things...
But I remember that i had to edit the genkernel scripts to include the aufs-userspace-tools also!
I dont know if aufs support is now officially in genkernel...!?
But back in the day I had to hack it together... see my posts there: https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-784340-start-0.html
Hope that helps a bit, otherwise it would be nice if you could some more information what youd like to achieve and where you're stuck.
Cheers _________________ Power to the people! |
