Mind pasting the command the warning referred to ?
Also, might it be the common "I'm running from RescueCD" problem ?

emerge qemu

:)

from my /etc/portage/package.keywords file:
=app-emulation/qemu-1.5.2-r2 ~amd64
=sys-firmware/ipxe-1.0.0_p20130624 ~amd64

emerge qemu

:)

I mean (and you know it) the line that was sent to gcc that triggered 'cc1: warning: /usr/local/include: not a directory [enabled by default]'.

I haven't a clue. All I did was unmask the package, set my use flags, which are above, and issued emerge.

I installed a microcontroller package from Sealeve systems that dropped a file in my /usr directory called /usr/local/include. If you check the complaints of the qemu build above, that is what is was complaining about.

Solution:
rm /usr/local/include

John
