Hi,
I'm following the official wiki to install Gentoo; now I have to add a new entry in Grub 2 (previously installed on MBR via Mint installation) for the new system, how can I do this? I have the following initramfs and kernel:
/boot/initramfs-genkernel-x86_64-3.8.13-gentoo
/boot/kernel-genkernel-x86_64-3.8.13-gentoo
(The root partition is ext4, and I do not have a separate /boot partition as you might have guessed). Thank you in advance.

are you dual booting gentoo and mint?

if so, do they share a boot partition or does each have its own?

Oh, sorry for the for the inaccuracy, I have Windows 8 and Mint dual booting by now, however I want to add Gentoo to the list. No, they don't have/share a separate /boot partition.

Just boot into Mint and run
Code:
grub-mkconfig -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg

it will add new boot menu entry for your Gentoo installation.
