Please clarify: Are you saying that it hangs after POST (that is, before rEFInd appears) or after you try to boot the kernel with rEFInd? In either event, any extra details you can provide might be useful -- for instance, do you see any status or error messages, do you see a blinking cursor on the screen, do you see disk activity after the hang, can you ping the computer after you wait for a couple of minutes, etc.? Also, what kind of computer is this? There's a bug that a lot of Arch users are encountering (see this thread) with 3.7.x and later kernels, mostly on Lenovo computers. This bug is either in, or interacts with, the EFI stub loader, rather than rEFInd.
