When i issue
#cp arch/x86_64/boot/bzImage /boot/vmlinuz-3.10.4-hardened-r1

i get a file named /vmlinuz-3.10.4-hardened-r1 in /boot but it shows as a dos executable in my file manager.

When i do grub2-mkconfig i can see the kernel in the output, but when i install it and proceed to reboot, i don't have a choice for that kernel.

I am switching from full disk encryption with luks to FDE with lvm over luks.

All the kernels versions i tried since i reinstalled behave like this.

I cannot use my old kernel since i included linux_cmdiline arguments that wont work with my new configuration.

If you enabled the "EFI stub" option in menuconfig, then the file manager is right; that's literally a DOS executable.

I guess i need to enable efi in my bios settings and tweak a few things.

Or are you suggesting i disable efi and recompile kernel?

Thanks, i'll probably try both tommorow
