I am curious, is the numpad reversed in X-windows only or in the console as well?
By console, I mean <ctrl><shift><F1-5> where X isn't intercepting your key codes?
If your numpad works correctly in the console, then it is most likely a bug in gnome. Have you gone to the gnome bug tracking site yet? I don't know it off the top of my head, but they may have a fix.

If you want proof of that, take a look at windows sometime. |
