Hello
I'm currently building new system on a notebook.
The system should run Gnome 3, and the current version 3.8 forced me to build system with systemd init.
After few days of reading and trying I finally manage to achieve a bootable system with desired desktop environment.
The thing that bothers me is not working plymouth. I have no splashes at all.
I'm using binary nvidia drivers therefor the console is running on uvesafb which according to information here should work with few disadvantages.
I build initramfs with dracut, I checked that all needed parts of plymouth are included in iniram image.
I compiled plymouth with debug and added plymouth:debug to kernel line.
The debug is showing this
As I can see it's trying to load some kms drm driver and afterwords is failing down to fremebuffer.
Seems that is correctly recognizing my console resolution, but why there is no splash I don not know.
If any one can point me in to right direction I would be grateful. _________________ Dell XPS Gentoo 3.12.2 GCC 4.8.2 KDE 4.11 |
