Keanu has the power to destroy all. Though I thought he played a decent tertiary character in Something's Gotta Give.

He was great in Matrix 1. (Always assume that Matrix 2 & 3 were never made)

I didn't see 2 or 3 because of 1. :D

I'll wait to hear reviews of how he does. But it does look good.

Thought 2 and 3 were both enjoyable, at least, I seen much worse.

My initial thought was 47 Ronin, I'll take 7 Samurai any day...

...but it looks pretty cool and I'll probably drag someone to the theater to see it.

it's actually based on an old Japanese legend. 四十七士.

At first I thought it was going to be a remake of the bad DeNiro movie Ronin.

I thought the lady that turned into a dragon was going to turn into a 'Rokurokubi' which I understand to be a sort of long-necked Revenant bloodsucking monster who was a scorned woman.

I watched the 13 Assassins because it was (probably) an old Japanese legend and was directed by Tåkéshi Miiké and had good reviews.

The movie isn't bad but I wanted it to end.

Anywho... This Korean movie: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Good,_the_Bad,_the_Weird was better.

Or, just a typical woman ;)

Right. Militant feminism has turned all women into scorned women, so all are potentially able to fulfill the requirements for becoming one. :)

The film looks atrocious. Japanese martial art is so gay compared to Chinese.

It doesn't open until tomorrow...

EXCLUSIVE - Universal takes writedown on new Keanu Reeves film
Quote:
Comcast Corp's (CMCSA.O) Universal Pictures movie studio has taken unspecified write-downs for its $175 million, Keanu Reeves film "47 Ronin" that opens on Christmas Day, the studio has acknowledged, as Hollywood neared the end of a year of big budget bombs.

isn't it great? another fine case of Hollywood whitewash.

Never trust a bunch of asians - you MUST add some white guy or the film will not be shot.

If you need an example of racism: this is one.

Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon was pretty awesome, but I see your point. I thought The Last Samurai was dumb for the same reason (Why would you need an American cowboy to teach Japanese how to Samurai?).

Crouching was OK, but I was disappointed. The best part was the parody Crouching Democrat, Hidden Agenda. I liked The Last Samurai.

Yeah, well you like Justin Beiber, too. :P

Yeah, but you're his #1 fan. I'm just someone who couldn't even point out anything he's done. For all I know, he might actually be good. Though generally speaking, most adolescent performers aren't very good.

Traci Lords was pretty good, back in the day.
