Hey guys,

I have HP Envy dv6 laptop. Here's what I got inside:

lspci info

The problem is that my laptop gets very hot - right now it has ~60 degrees Celsius, and I'm not using anything but my web browser and emacs. Right now it's uncomfortable, and if I start playing some game it will get terrible.

What can I do to fix it? If you need some more info, let me know.

Have you tried cleaning the dust, fluff and hair from the fan and heat exchanger? Cleaning the fluff that builds up on the fan and heat exchanger of the laptops I and my family own makes a big difference to the operating temperature. There are several videos on YouTube showing how to disassemble the HP Envy dv6 and clean the fan. Worth a shot, anyway.

Fitz - how often do you think I should clean my laptop? I've bought it 1.5 year ago, and I don't know how often do I need to do this.

Anyway I will try it later, I guess it'll help, but are there any other things I could do, apart from physical cleaning?
