Hey guys,
I have HP Envy dv6 laptop. Here's what I got inside:
lspci info
The problem is that my laptop gets very hot - right now it has ~60 degrees Celsius, and I'm not using anything but my web browser and emacs. Right now it's uncomfortable, and if I start playing some game it will get terrible.
What can I do to fix it? If you need some more info, let me know. |

Have you tried cleaning the dust, fluff and hair from the fan and heat exchanger? Cleaning the fluff that builds up on the fan and heat exchanger of the laptops I and my family own makes a big difference to the operating temperature. There are several videos on YouTube showing how to disassemble the HP Envy dv6 and clean the fan. Worth a shot, anyway. _________________ Clevo W230SS: amd64, VIDEO_CARDS="intel modesetting nvidia".

Fitz - how often do you think I should clean my laptop? I've bought it 1.5 year ago, and I don't know how often do I need to do this.
Anyway I will try it later, I guess it'll help, but are there any other things I could do, apart from physical cleaning? |
