Hi EVERYBODY,

I'm trying Gentoo Linux and I'm using a minimal installation. It took me a while and many trails to get me where I am currently.

I'm at a terminal from an alien world (I'm the invader!):

+--[ RSA 2048]-----+
.o*+E
| .. = | <-------------------------| just an idea what I'm got
. . .
+---------------------------+

Something about RSA, DSA
The key's randomart image is:
+--[DSA 1024 ]----+
. .
. o
. + .
+--------------------------+

Q: What is this or what does it mean? And what should I do now?

The keyword is "randomart". It means very little, just some picture made up by the author of the code. ANSI art and text art were big in the days before graphics terminals.

This is incorrect. The art described by the OP is likely the visual representation of an ssh key. Some people find it easier to perform host key verification by remembering the key's art form than by remembering its fingerprint.

Telling us where you are in Gentoo Handbook would be a great help for us to help you.

It sounds like sshd was just started and it generated host keys.

The first time sshd is run on a new system it builds its local keys, and for some reason
gives an ASCII representation. It won't happen again; for the actual keys look under
/etc/ssh

Hello gentoolinja,
welcome to Gentoo!

I am under the impression that this is your first linux installation without graphical installer,
and that you just booted up the CD. Sorry if I am mistaken.
So I assume the term "host key verification" and "SSHD" do not mean very much to you.
But you can ignore it for now, as t is not important for a first install.

If you have not already found it, here is a link to the handbook:
http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/handbook/index.xml#doc_chap2
Click on one of the links according to your platform type.
If you don't know what x86 or amd64 are, you are most likely right with x86,
but in order to understand the handbook, you should look up those terms.
Gentoo requires much technical understanding and details matter.
