Gnome 3.8 - keyboard selection problem

Hi,
Living in the UK I have struggled for a while having only been able to get US layout on Gnome 3.8.

I went into settings and the correct keyboard layout was selected there (under input sources). I also tried to define it in xorg.conf, but no effect.

Today I manage to find a workaround. I added a second keyboard in the input sources. Then selected it and then the UK one again from the top status bar.

Then the UK keyboard works and £, @ and " characters are on the correct places again.

Anyone else had this problem?
