I keep waiting for this one to magically disappear, but I've been working on it for days (and it may have existed for two weeks while I was on vacation). I'm not even sure I understand the problem. It looks like this:

Code:
WARNING: One or more updates have been skipped due to a dependency conflict:

dev-python/python-exec:0

  (dev-python/python-exec-0.3.1::gentoo, ebuild scheduled for merge) conflicts with
    dev-python/python-exec[python_targets_python3_3(-),-python_single_target_python3_2(-),-python_single_target_python3_3(-)] required by (app-accessibility/speech-dispatcher-0.8-r2::gentoo, installed)
  (dev-python/python-exec-0.3.1::gentoo, ebuild scheduled for merge) conflicts with
    dev-python/python-exec[python_targets_python2_5(-),python_targets_python2_6(-),python_targets_python2_7(-),python_targets_python3_3(-),-python_single_target_python2_5(-),-python_single_target_python2_6(-),-python_single_target_python2_7(-),-python_single_target_python3_1(-),-python_single_target_python3_2(-),-python_single_target_python3_3(-),-python_single_target_pypy1_9(-),-python_single_target_pypy2_0(-)] required by (dev-python/setuptools-0.8::gentoo, installed)

Here's emerge --info:

And before you say it: Yes, it's riced all to hell. But it runs fine, I don't see what effect that would have on this particular problem.

I've never quite understood the whole Python targets thing. Or rather, I think I understand it, but I'm not sure I understand what it's telling me I should change about either PYTHON_TARGETS, PYTHON_SINGLE_TARGET, package.use, package.keywords, or if indeed that is the sort of problem we're dealing with at all.[/code]

Anyway, it's such an unsightly thing to see day after day . . .

This is due to a certain minor annoyance related to you mixing stable with unstable.
python-exec-0.3.1 is stable, but python3.3 is still in unstable, which is why python_targets_python3_3 is use.stable.masked.

See 'man portage' on how to override that (that is if you don't know it already).
