Hi everybody

I've discovered gentoo few days ago, so i'm pretty new. My decision felt on install-amd64-minimal-20130606.iso and i'm trying to install it on my 64bit notebook.

In the beginning of the installation, i wanted to see all partitions (total 4 partitions) that i've on my 600 GB SATA-HD. I used command fdisk -l, but i couldn't see them. The only one was /dev/sda partition with a size of 580 GB. All partitions with windows (NTFS) or my data-partition (FAT32) aren't visible. Isn't gentoo able to recognize them or did i something wrong?

I must say that to format these partitions is the last escape out of this problem.

Thanks.

you can try
Code:
blkid

ntfs and fat&vfat already builtin in kernel. see: install-amd64-minimal-20130516.iso/isolinux/gentoo.igz/lib/modules/3.8.13-gentoo/modules.builtin
edit:do not disable any modules if you dont know what do you do

If fdisk -l said
Quote:

believe it. emerge parted, gptfdisk, for the CLI and/or emerge gparted for GUI.
parted -l
gdisk /dev/sda
