|
|
Cutting straight to the point. I recently set up Kodi standalone via X11 with a new GT 710. It seems to work fine for playing media but the menu is slow and the menu animations have low framerate.
Is this because the GT 710 is hopelessly underpowered? Or might I have a configuration issue? I'm not sure where to begin looking if it's the latter.
Here's my systemd unit for launching Kodi:
Code: | [Unit]
Description = Starts instance of Kodi using xinit
After = systemd-user-sessions.service network.target sound.target mysqld.service
Conflicts=getty@tty1.service
[Service]
User = xbmc
Group = xbmc
PAMName=login
Type = simple
TTYPath=/dev/tty1
ExecStart = /usr/bin/xinit /usr/bin/dbus-launch --exit-with-session /usr/bin/kodi-standalone -- :0 -nolisten tcp vt1
Restart = on-abort
StandardInput = tty
[Install]
WantedBy = graphical.target |
I'm using a stock xorg.config and have compiled nouveau into my kernel. |

Hi,
Kodi doesn't support nouveau. You need to use proprietary nVidia drivers. _________________ Kind regards,

Huh, good to know. I'll try that and see how I go, thanks.
Edit: That seems to have helped a bit, thanks. |
