Hi, is there any way of getting this library working with just ALSA, without PulseAudio? I need this because some games are using only pulse and do not work with alsa:
Quote:
./wakingmars: error while loading shared libraries: libpulse-simple.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

I do not want to use PulseAudio, because I have had only trouble with it last time I tried...
Thank you for any advice :).

I don't think so; what happens if you install it and don't start it? Perhaps you could extract the library from it (as well as the libraries listed in its lddtree) and remove the rest? If that doesn't work, you'll have to resort to changing code to accomplish what you want to do; unless those games aren't open-source...

If you ever want to look further into this then you can follow http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/qa/backtraces.xml and re-emerge the package and its dependencies; after which you can follow the gdb instructions to obtain a backtrace, which you could use to report a bug to get this resolved.
