Hello everyone,
I am using Gentoo on AMD64 and have a problem with corruption when rendering
GTK programs and borders/tooltips.

Here some screenshots:

As you can see I am using nouveau.
I have tried the currently stable release and the most recent unstable release but both show the same behaviour.

The odd thing is that the content of KDE apps (I am using KDE 4.10 as desktop) is not corrupted only GTK apps and window decorations (borders and tooltips mostly it seems).

Is there anyone experiencing similar problems?

Any ideas what could be causing this?

Thanks for your input

The fact that it's happening in both cairo-based apps and KWin suggests an OpenGL problem. You should be able to confirm if that's the case by running a Qt/KDE program with QT_GRAPHICSSYSTEM=opengl env var set.

When I switch qtgraphicssystem to opengl X doesnt start anymore, the log says it cant load the nouveau driver.
I will have to investigate this further.
Thanks for the pointer.
