Eh?
I don't think they'll delete your posts. |

why would you want todo that?
You can ask to have your account locked, but delete posts? won't happen. A few people that have RQ the forums have gone through and edited their post history. Cokehabit has been the most recent person (although he has returned to the forums) _________________

The Gentoo forums are for technical discussions and the posts in it are valuable to the whole community, and I would presume, were and continue to be valuable to any user wanting to be deleted.
Some people in the discussion that Ant P. cited wanted to appeal to "right-to-be-forgotten" laws. How does that even work? How does that make sense in the real world? It is an absolutely crazy notion. Quote: |
The Moving Finger writes; and having writ
Moves on; not all thy Piety nor Wit
Shall lure it back to cancel half a Line,
Nor all thy Tears wash out a Word of it. |
That was very true in the 12th century, and is even more true in the modern world. The time to have second thoughts is before you click Submit.
If dalu is concerned about anonymity, he or she ought to take comfort from having made the account under a pseudonym.
Maybe the avatar indicates the real situation: the deletion of posts would serve to cast the shadows of the Dark Side over the discussions in the forums. |
