|
|
Yesterday I tried to install e17, but that did not work after several attempts to install it, so I called it a day. Now today I want to continue trying to install it and use my system but at the log in prompt I enter my user name, but it says "Login Incorrect".
I tried to do what this post says
https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-921020-view-previous.html?sid=6d7324f947ac20a3fd27aff050ebb06a
by running etc-update but to no avail.
Right now I am re-emerging PAM.
Any ideas?
** edit
Solved by re-emerging shadow and now everything works fine. _________________ ^.^

obviously you entered the wrong password.
Since this probably won't help you, here what you can do:
Boot a (e.g. the Gentoo) live Cd, chroot into your install and execute "password <user>" to change the password for <user>.
After that you should be able to login with that user and the new password |

I am sorry for not mentioning this but I never get the password prompt. After I am prompted for a username I enter it and it just tells me that there was a log in failure. _________________ ^.^ |

Yes, I think it is from running an emerge dep clean because that is the last command I made on the system, that would affect the whole system. _________________ ^.^ |
