I emerged jack-audio-connection-kit 1.9.5 and i saw that no /usr/bin/jackd file installed
maybe there is another file?
i am trying to start qjack with no result
also rc-update add jackd default gives me no jackd server...

Afaik there is no such package in Gentoo Portage.
and if you mean the jack-audio_connection-kit then 0.121.3 is the last available version.
So you certainly installed that from somewhere else then... what happens to the binaries ? How can you expect we can tell you ?
Your best bet is to ask where you found that. _________________

qjackctl invokes the jack daemon, and shuts it down when finished. its not something that your going to want on 24/7.
emerge -av qjackctl jack
should produce all rebuilds, zero new packages.
qjackctl setup for me is "jackd" no absolute path.
mkultra@mkultra [ ~ ]$ which jackd
/usr/bin/jackd
mkultra@mkultra [ ~ ]$ jackd --version
jackd version 0.121.3 tmpdir /dev/shm protocol 24
[ebuild U ] media-sound/jack-3.1.1-r1 [3.1.1] 0 kB |

There is absolutely nothing wrong in running jackd on 24/7
Nothing wrong... Well... as long as you can find the binary I mean. _________________

!!! Multiple package instances within a single package slot have been pulled
!!! into the dependency graph, resulting in a slot conflict:
media-sound/jack-audio-connection-kit:0
(media-sound/jack-audio-connection-kit-1.9.9.5-r1::proaudio, installed) pulled in by
>=media-sound/jack-audio-connection-kit-1.9.5 required by (app-emulation/wineasio-0.9.0::x-portage, installed)
(media-sound/jack-audio-connection-kit-0.121.3::gentoo, ebuild scheduled for merge) pulled in by
(no parents that aren't satisfied by other packages in this slot)
It may be possible to solve this problem by using package.mask to
prevent one of those packages from being selected. However, it is also
possible that conflicting dependencies exist such that they are
impossible to satisfy simultaneously. If such a conflict exists in
the dependencies of two different packages, then those packages can
not be installed simultaneously. You may want to try a larger value of
the --backtrack option, such as --backtrack=30, in order to see if
that will solve this conflict automatically.
For more information, see MASKED PACKAGES section in the emerge man
page or refer to the Gentoo Handbook. |

Whilst browsing around I noticed your problems with jack. May be totally irrelevant but I see no reference to setting @audio rtprio and nice in /etc/security/limits.conf. I remember having problems getting jack to work in the past, before I discovered the need to set these up.
Forgive me if this is not relevant to the problem, but it may be worth checking to see the limits are set.
My settings are as follows:--
@audio - rtprio 99
@audio - nice 0 |

Correct! Those need to be set and I cover those in the links I posted. _________________ decibel Linux: https://decibellinux.org

Yes. I had not looked at your links. I have now and note your reference to limits.conf. I'll keep my nose out of this one! But did gentoorockerfr "check the messages window for more info." That might be informative |
