|
|
I'm having trouble displaying games, run by wine (Starcraft in particular), in fullscreen. When I start it, the screen switches to whatever resolution Starcraft tells it to (something like that) and acts like it will be fullscreen, but I end up seeing the kde taskbar on the bottom, a little bit of the desktop on the right and left sides, and it seems like the window isn't big enough because it cuts off the bottom and the right part of the starcraft window.
I've tried to change the settings under the x11drv section of the wine config file, but nothing helps. Here's my section of the config.
Code: |
[x11drv]
"AllocSystemColors" = "100"
"PrivateColorMap" = "N"
"PerfectGraphics" = "N"
"Managed" = "Y"
"UseDGA" = "Y"
"UseXVidMode" = "Y"
"UseXRandR" = "Y"
"UseTakeFocus" = "Y"
"DXGrab" = "N"
"DesktopDoubleBuffered" = "N" |
I can post more of the config file, but i thought that was the only relevant part yet.
Now if I make it a window, of say 640x480, then nothing gets cut off, and I can play the game. However, it runs ALOT slower cause I haven't changed my screen resolution to fit the window.
I can't figure out why it's any different with fullscreen or a window. |

I know it works with wineX. I'll try it under wine when I arrive home.
Anyway in previous versions of wine I couldn't play Starcraft because when entering fullscreen mode the mouse and keyboard were not associated to the game and I had to hard-reboot _________________ La PDA de tungsteno |

just dont use fullscreen. it wont work most of the time. get it working in a "Desktop" and switch down to that resolution with CTRL+ALT+"-"/"+". it this is not working, you have set only one resolution in your X config. _________________ If you fall off a cliff, you might as well try to fly. Mine Works Fine With XFCE DESKTOP and Taskbar on Autohide.. I play NFS Most Wanted. Works Great with XFCE however in KDE nothing works Neither Full Screen nor Emulated Desktop..
Tried Different Versions of Wine. 1.4 and 1.5.31 Tried 32 bit and 64 bit as well Same Results. Because of this I am having to use XFCE fo Gaming and KDE as normal Desktop
Is there a way to work around this. or is this a bug in KDE 4.10.2 |
