Well.. since some time, it seems that portage finally implemented the multilib building, rather than installing the precompiled emul-linux-* packages.
But the problem is, that not everything seems prepared for this new build system, for example, I can't even emerge --emptytree system without any package wanting emul packages and blocking all the rest.
My question is:
Is there any roadmap for it to be completed and get rid of all emul-linux-x86-* packages? I have to disable 32bit ABI for the moment, but I think it is a great idea, and a very gentooish one!
So go for it _________________ Some people should use emerge brain on theirselves... |

After having spent some time messing with updates to emul*-medialibs and emul*-soundlibs this morning I have the same question.
It seems that the developers are going about this very half-assed.
I had to add a lot of packages to get past the stupid "You need something else added to show a proper emerge"
WHY?????
Is it really that hard to get it together and do things all at once? Where is a damned roadmap? _________________ PRIME x570-pro, 3700x, 6.1 zen kernel
