I have an Aluminum PowerBook G4 running Gentoo (kernel 3.8.13-gentoo). It refuses to start x.org.
The full output of Xorg's logfile, as well as emerge --info, are here. In essence, what happens is the X server appears to load the driver correctly, then refuses to proceed and states that no screens are found.
lspci -vk is here; and zcat /proc/config.gz is here. (If I missed something, let me know and I'll add it in.) _________________ /* Nobody will ever see this message */

IIRC, on ppc an entry in xorg.conf is required with BusID, as it's not detected correctly on the platform.
There was a thread about it recently. |

Ah, I see. I'll try it when I get back from my trip.
X -configure segfaults, which is the subject of another open bug. _________________ /* Nobody will ever see this message */
