hi
i have bought a 32Gb SSD (KingSpec) from amazon
http://www.amazon.co.uk/KingSpec-1-8-inch-50-pin-Solid-State/dp/B007PFPVOS

i have also bought its usb adaptor
http://www.amazon.it/USB-1-8-HARD-DRIVE-ADAPTER/dp/B0096AIJJ4/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_3?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1364079176&sr=1-3-fkmr0

when i plug it into my powerbook G4 i see this

Quote:

usb 1-1.4: new full speed USB device number 5 using ar71xx-ohci
usb 1-1.4: New USB device found, idVendor=067b, idProduct=2506
usb 1-1.4: New USB device strings: Mfr=1, Product=2, SerialNumber=3

kjournald starting. Commit interval 5 seconds
EXT3-fs (sdc2): using internal journal
EXT3-fs (sdc2): recovery complete
EXT3-fs (sdc2): mounted filesystem with writeback data mode

i could invoke mac-part in order to create 1 partition sdc2, i got "HDIO_GET_IDENTITY" error when i confirmed mac-fdisk to finalize the partition table, anyway mac-fdisk has done its job correctly

then i mkfs.ext3 /dev/sdc2

if do
Quote:

hdparm -i /dev/sdc2

i get this

Quote:

/dev/sdc2:
SG_IO: bad/missing sense data, sb[]: 70 00 05 00 00 00 00 0a 00 00 00 00 20 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00
HDIO_GET_IDENTITY failed: Invalid argument

What do you think is wrong ? It seems to me that the SSD is not supporting standard features
