Hi guys,
I need some help with a weird problem.
The joypad I'm using is a playstation 2 pad, connected to an usb port by some green-asia adapter.
When running the live dvd, the pad works fine, but on my gentoo installation, it doesn't.
So I figured there might be something which I overlooked/forgot.

lsusb:
Code:
Bus 003 Device 002: ID 0e8f:0003 GreenAsia Inc. MaxFire Blaze2
Bus 004 Device 002: ID 045e:0040 Microsoft Corp. Wheel Mouse Optical
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub
Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub
Bus 003 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
Bus 004 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub

in the kernel, I activated (built in):
Code:
Device Drivers  --->
  Input device support  --->
    <*>   Joystick interface
    HID support  --->
    Special HID drivers  --->
        <*>   GreenAsia (Product ID 0x12) game controller support
              [*]   GreenAsia (Product ID 0x12) force feedback support

I also enabled the classic analog joystick module (built in), but currently forgot where that one was again..
Code:
modprobe joydev
modprobe analog
had no effect
Apparently, no device files are created under /dev/input
And if I create them myself via
Code:
mknod /dev/input/js0 c 13 0
my joypad remains unrecognized

I'm sure that the solution is simple, but I can't figure it out >.<

nvm, I managed to fix this myself

The problem was, that I set the respective kernel drivers to build in, instead to module.
I do not fully understand way, but now, my joypad is working flawlessly
