Hi guys!
I'm not sure this is the correct forum branch where to ask but I'll try
I'have an AMD Radeon R9 290X so it should be enabled for OpenGL 4.1 but after the install and the install-upgrade of all the Mesa 11 versions I still have glxinfo OpenGL version 3.3.
By googling I found that all the people with OpenGL 4.1 have the Kernel 4.2.1: could it be a kernel version problem? I have the 4.0.9.
Anyone could help to check what am I lacking?
Please note that my Gentoo was firstly installed on 2012 and after that I just upgraded it monthly: maybe some old nasty configuration file?
Of course also if I have OpenGL 3.3 DRI and hardware acceleration is active; I have also VDPAU configured and Glamor.
Thank you in advance for any clues. |

Sorry guys for posting: it's almost three weeks tests then this exact evening I updated the LLVM package and magically Mesa tells me about 4.1
So: kernel 4.0.9 ok but you'll need LLVM 3.7.0 (which btw is not stable in portage).
Thank you anyway: this issue is solved.
Regards. |
