The article confirms what I've been saying. People are judgmental, and poor grammar or spelling is like walking around wearing a dunce cap. I have my own set of recurring errors that I try to reduce (such as lengthy parenthetic expressions which I forget to close.

I getted three wrong. When I went through school, the fashion was to avoid the pedantic terminology and simply teach what should and shouldn't be done.

I got two terminology-related ones wrong, and just didn't pay enough attention on the "my brother who doesn't" question.

However, I am trying to improve. I read a couple pages of Eats, Shoots and Leaves each time I sit down to take a mondo, full-bore shit. I think I'll burn that when I'm done, just on principle, and then read Strunk again, which I remember getting a lot out of many years ago.

one wrong.

me missed one (the hilary one. that was confusing and stupid if you ask me) and semi guessed on another but got it (the gerund/modal one. I knew what two of the words meant).
