hi, fresh install here, trying to get the wireless to work and have followed so many threads about the ath5k setup that at this point im lost ive got traces of wpa_supplicant, probably some conf files from networkmanager and dhclient, dhcpcd etc. and i still have no internet. I remember getting it up and running with ndiswrapper 3 years ago but i think that method is deprecated. where should i start so as to begin fresh.

Do you have wext compatibility in your kernel? If not, use -Dnl80211 instead of -Dwext: https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-p-7218540.html#7218540
