When i start the Xserver (startx) the system loads Perfectly fine, except that i have to tap my synaptics pad to complete the initialization. the effecting change was the use of the synaptics driver (special Xorg.conf and the activation of "SHMconfig"

i can solve the problem by changing back to generic mouse but i wonder what actually causes the hang.

that's weird! i assume all the relevant xorg.conf settings are correct or it wouldn't be working at all.

can you work around it by simulating the tap you're currently having to do manually? i.e. can you use xdotool mousemove (or click) in .xinitrc or in a .desktop launcher under .config/autostart, so that the startup process does the mousepad tap for you?

O.O I had never thought about that, and don't know where to start.

my goal is to have horozontal 2 finger scrolling active (know supported, proven on xUbuntu) But i cant find a way to modify the active or inactive features of the synaptic finger pad. all i can get is 2 finger vertical scrolling (nice but lacking) if anything else i can always go back to mouse0 for the controll.
