There is still a dependancy which shouldn't exists between libvpx and net-snmp which results in the update of libvpx failing. The workaround involve unemerging net-snmp, updating libvpx and reemerging net-snmp. This is simply silly. Can people responsible for libvpx resolve once and for all this issue? The ebuild file is having a addpredict command which is supposed to resolve this issue and obviously isn't working at all with version 1.1.0 of libvpx.

dev-lang/php-5.3.15
net-analyzer/net-snmp-5.7.2_rc1

and media-libs/libvpx-1.1.0

Please file a bug, and build logs and precise description of the problem (steps to reproduce) would be useful.

I appended a comment to the following existing bug report as per the ebuild file.

Code:
   addpredict /usr/share/snmp/mibs/.index

The bug report is marked as resolved, should I open a new one?

Well, it seems you got a reply from Samuli. Feel free to let me know here if the progress on that bug gets stalled.

I've noticed bug https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=466522 has been filed and marked as a dupe - are you still seeing this problem?

This is still biting me in stable amd64 because libvpx-1.1.0 is what's still getting pulled in.

Indeed, I've re-opened https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=465988 and I'm going to commit the fix if maintainers don't do that.

Feel free to ping me in this thread if it doesn't happen.
