hi there,
Since two days my gentoo box (32bit - quite old) hosted in a DC panics all 1-3 hrs which is pretty annoying. I first believed in a software problem but also the rescue system offered by the dedicated server provider crashes when i chroot into my gentoo installation and start doing "heavy stuff" like compiling.
A memtest pass passed without errors. This is a screenshot of the last panic (message is always the same) shot from the serial console that appeared while compiling a gentoo kernel via the rescue system based chroot (that's why it is debian):

But the messages is the same when running my real installation for a while. I currently booted into my "real" system and reduced swappiness in case it is maybe disk related. /proc/mdstat looks good however. Still my guts feeling is that it is somehow related to disk but I cannot proof it...
Has anyone a hint which component I should try to get swapped or do you see the possibilty of a software problem?
Any input highly appreciated as this is bugging me fot two days already.
Thanks and Cheers |
