How to solve this?

Code:
# emerge -uDN world
Calculating dependencies... done!
[ebuild     U  ] media-libs/libpng-1.6.1 [1.5.15]
[ebuild  NS    ] media-libs/libpng-1.5.15-r15 [1.5.15] USE="apng (-neon)"
[ebuild     U  ] sys-apps/kmod-13 [12-r1]
[ebuild     U  ] media-libs/libwebp-0.3.0 [0.2.1-r1] USE="gif%* jpeg%* png%* tiff%* -swap-16bit-csp%"
[ebuild     U  ] sys-fs/udev-201 [200]
[ebuild     U  ] x11-libs/cairo-1.12.14 [1.12.12-r1]
[ebuild     U  ] dev-db/libiodbc-3.52.8-r1 [3.52.8]
[ebuild     U  ] www-client/firefox-bin-20.0-r2 [20.0-r1]
[ebuild     U  ] kde-base/jovie-4.10.2 [4.10.1]
[ebuild   R    ] sys-libs/glibc-2.17  USE="-suid%"
[ebuild     U  ] net-print/cups-1.6.2-r2 [1.6.2-r1]
[blocks B      ] =media-libs/libpng-1.5*:0 ("=media-libs/libpng-1.5*:0" is blocking media-libs/libpng-1.5.15-r15)

!!! Multiple package instances within a single package slot have been pulled
!!! into the dependency graph, resulting in a slot conflict:

media-libs/libpng:0

  (media-libs/libpng-1.5.15::gentoo, installed) pulled in by
    >=media-libs/libpng-1.4:0/0= required by (x11-libs/gdk-pixbuf-2.26.5::gentoo, installed)

Had the same thing.
Solution unmerge libpng and run emerge -uDN world again.
Gerard.

There is a problem with sys-apps/portage wrt https://bugs.gentoo.org/465356

Bottom line is that Portage should be able to autoresolve this but it doesn't, and it's being worked on.

Instead of `emerge -C libpng` I would suggest:

Code:

# emerge --nodeps --oneshot 'media-libs/libpng:0'

For now.

Thanks,
Samuli
