|
|
Good morning,
Whenever I type /etc/init.d/dbus start &> output.txt, I get the following:
Code: |
* Starting D-BUS system messagebus ...Failed to start message bus: Failed to open socket: Function not implemented
* start-stop-daemon: failed to start `/usr/bin/dbus-daemon'
[ !! ]
* ERROR: dbus failed to start |
I can't start dbus, so I can't log into any GUI at the moment. So I dual boot with crunchbang. But where do I start troubleshooting this?

The solution was just to recompile my kernel. Dbus requires that the kernel has support for unix domain sockets, which in turn require networking supprt. |
