|
|
Hi,
I have just compiled the bitcoin miner bfgminer 3.0.2 / and git on gentoo against AMD SDK 2.8 and ati-drivers-13.4.
The performance when mining BTC is really bad compared with my debian wheezy install using the same drivers/SDK on the same computer.
On wheezy I get 280+ mh/s on my AMD 7850 card. I get 280 on dynamic intensity and 350ish with a high intensity.
On gentoo I get max 205 mh/s changing any options including intensity only makes it worse.
The werid thing is that Scrypt mining is identical on both installs?! Both get about 350kh/s
Any advice on what might be wrong would be appreciated

Figured it out. For some reason on gentoo cg/bfg miners select phatk kernel by default. I had to manually choose the diablo (which was default on wheezy) kernel and the hash rate went back to normal. |

How did you manually choose it? Can you do it while bfgminer is running?
