For example:
In this moment there is a bug, where you cannot USE with systemd

Be patient, time will settle.

By the way:
As of today there is released upstream systemd-199
having not much new but systemd_python api!

Hi,
I'm still having problems with systemd/udev, they don't seem to get along toghether in anyway... I tried with and without gudev-introspection, it asks me for static-libs on udev,
even with sys-apps/systemd-9999 I have the same conflicts :
Code:

[ebuild     U *] sys-apps/systemd-9999 [197-r1] USE="acl kmod pam python tcpd -audit -cryptsetup -doc% -efi% -gcrypt -gudev% -http -introspection% -lzma -qrcode (-selinux) -vanilla -xattr" PYTHON_SINGLE_TARGET="python2_7" PYTHON_TARGETS="python2_7" 0 kB
[nomerge       ] sys-block/gparted-0.14.1  USE="fat hfs jfs kde ntfs policykit reiserfs xfs -btrfs -dmraid -gtk -mdadm -reiser4"
[nomerge       ]  virtual/udev-197-r2  USE="gudev hwdb introspection keymap kmod static-libs (-selinux)"
[nomerge       ]   sys-fs/udev-198-r6  USE="acl gudev hwdb introspection keymap kmod openrc static-libs -doc (-selinux)"
[ebuild  N     ]    sys-fs/udev-init-scripts-25  5 kB
[ebuild     U  ]    sys-apps/hwids-20130309-r1 [20130302] USE="udev" 1,454 kB
[ebuild  N     ]     virtual/udev-197-r2  USE="gudev hwdb introspection keymap kmod static-libs (-selinux)" 0 kB
[ebuild  N     ]      sys-fs/udev-198-r6  USE="acl gudev hwdb introspection keymap kmod openrc static-libs -doc (-selinux)" 2,094 kB
[blocks B      ] sys-apps/systemd ("sys-apps/systemd" is blocking sys-fs/udev-198-r6)
[blocks B      ] sys-fs/udev ("sys-fs/udev" is blocking sys-apps/systemd-9999)

Total: 5 packages (2 upgrades, 3 new), Size of downloads: 3,552 kB
Conflict: 2 blocks (2 unsatisfied)

is it maybe because of gparted? or hwids database? I really don't know what to do, maybe I should just reemerge the previous version I quickpackaged before trying to upgrade.

Thanks

@zolfo, try from app-portage/gentoolkit

equery hasuse static-libs
equery hasuse static

If you need static (grub?) then just wait, systemd will surely get static-libs soonish or later:
https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=463250

Beware of using live systemd-9999 in this moment of an U-turn:
https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=463290#c4

I do have a working systemd with these USE flags:
Code:
[ebuild   R    ] virtual/udev-197-r2  USE="gudev hwdb introspection keymap kmod (-selinux) -static-libs" 0 kB
[ebuild   R    ] sys-apps/hwids-20130309-r1  USE="udev" 0 kB
[ebuild   R    ] sys-apps/systemd-198-r5  USE="acl audit cryptsetup doc efi gudev introspection kmod lzma pam python tcpd xattr -gcrypt -http -qrcode (-selinux) -vanilla" PYTHON_SINGLE_TARGET="python2_7" PYTHON_TARGETS="python2_7" 0 kB
