Hi. What utilities are available to me if I want to build a high quality initramfs? I was never able to use genkernel for this, because I could never get it to build an initramfs that could properly boot my layered raid1/luks/lvm system. So I created my own initramfs, with a handwritten initialization script, and I've been using the same one for years. The problem is that there is something insufficient about my custom initramfs, because the system won't boot with a current version of udev. So right now I've masked my system at an ancient version of udev (171-r5), but that is causing me other problems when I want to go and install newer gentoo-sources.

So I was wondering what utility to use that can build a initramfs that does proper initialization and can boot into a full-disk, layered raid1/luks/lvm system.
