kindle 4 ---> solved for now

No node in /dev. All other usb devices work fine on my system. Printers, input, etc. Have usb-storage compiled and loaded. Googled extensively. A little help. I just want to put some ebooks on it. I'm thinking it's a kernel driver or option I need, but can't find anything at all online.

DOH! Was using USB 3.0 port w/o xhci support. Haven't had this motherboard that long, and never bothered with 3.0 previously.
