Hello,

So I built up a XRDP box using Gentoo and so far all is good; now I am in the process of setting up the default settings, etc. to be copied into /etc/skel.

My question is if it is possible to have different skeleton folders available for the different groups (Active Directory based) which will be accessing the system. In this manner one department can have a different set of settings available than another.

Thank you for your time.

ckoeber,

You can have different skeleton directories, but as far as I know it's at the user level. Check the -k option for useradd.

That option is nifty, perhaps that will be a starting point. With Active Directory integration I know Samba has it's own way of adding users so I posted a variation of this question to the Samba forums. I'll post what they respond with.
