Hi,
Just got a new install of Gentoo, but outside X I can get the keyboard have UK settings but in XFCE this isn't working.

In this file /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/30-keyboard.conf
Quote:

Section "InputClass"
Identifier "keyboard-all"
Driver "evdev"
Option "XkbLayout" "uk"
Option "XkbModel" "pc105"
Option "XkbRules" "xorg"
Option "XkbOptions" "grp:alt_shift_toggle,grp:switch,grp_led:scroll,compose:rwin,terminate:ctrl_alt_bksp"
Option "XkbVariant" ",qwerty"
MatchIsKeyboard "on"
EndSection

Due to having an nvidia card, I've also a xorg.conf.

My Xorg.0.log is as follows;

If you are referring to a British keyboard layout, then it should be "gb" in xorg.conf, not "uk". I use a British keyboard on my laptops using Xfce, and the details are given in the following post, if it's of any help: Selecting different keyboard layouts in Xfce.
