|
|
Recent update says:
Code: |
[blocks B ] dev-db/mysql ("dev-db/mysql" is blocking dev-db/mariadb-5.5.28)
[blocks B ] dev-db/mariadb ("dev-db/mariadb" is blocking dev-db/mysql-5.1.66)
|
What is this, and how can I simply tell mariadb to go away? It's not installed, I never heard of it before today, and I'm not interested. I also do not want >mysql-5.1.66.
EDIT: It seems like mariadb is tied in when using the "minimal" use flag, at least with 5.1.66.
Solved it by masking >virtual/mysql-5.1.
I wonder if this is going to be a big problem later... _________________ decibel Linux: https://decibellinux.org

MariaDB has been the source of repeated nuisances of this nature for me, and I too bitterly wish it could just go away.
If they really are fully interchangeable, WTH can't it be as simple as package.masking the package (no versions, just any)? |
