Hello,

the problem is simple but very, very annoying - my monitor won't turn off after specified period. That did work but stopped. Help me out please! Which files do you want me to post?

I am having the same problem. It used to work, but after some recent upgrades, it stopped. My most recent upgrade was installing pulseaudio and before that was KDE4.10.

Try to turn it off along with the screensaver, mess with timers and reenable them again (1minute first). That worked for me :)

This works on one of my laptop:
Code:
xset dpms force off

It does not work on my other laptop. But interestingly xscreensaver can turn it off and fits the job.
So, try xscreensaver if it works for you, untill finding the real problem.

For those of you who upgraded to kde-4.10.0, there is a bug in kde-base/powerdevil-4.10.0 that prevents the screen from shutting off. I applied the patches listed in the bug and that resolved the issue:
