I am using a macbook with parallels 8. Installed gentoo from stage 3. Everything worked fine seemingly, until i installed xorg and ran startx. Couldn't type anything (mouse works).

Same thing when starting xdm/gdm, can't type (mouse works) but i can type fine at the command line

im not sure how to copy/paste the output from the terminal, i guess i could dump it to a file, setup some email software email it to myself then do it from the OSX. Or is there an easier way?

great, thanks for the tip

I guess it looks like evdev is the culprit?

I checked in my kernel, Generic input devices is selected with a * there doesnt seem to be a way to load it as a module.

So when later on in the log it says it can't load the module, im not quite certain what it's on about.

Also this is my emerge --info
