He is "barricaded" in a cabin. Two more cops have been shot. The helicopters are circling...

Hopefully it's not just some guy who was out there running around trying to get the reward money of "One MILLION dollars!"

Here is his open memorandum to America, which the media have deemed his "manifesto". Whatever the facts are, it seems clear from it that he sees himself as a whistleblower being subjected to retaliatory persecution.

On that news feed, the Sheriff's Department was asking the public to "stop tweeting" because it's "impeding what they are trying to do".

Yeah. Good luck with that.

Given that it is the LAPD, it is safe to assume he only knew a small fraction of the problems.

Mrs. B.J. Smegma?

That seems pretty idiotic. They should move the public and media farther away.

While it seems extremely unlikely, it'd be hilarious if he wasn't there, or managed to escape.

I predict a long week-long standoff. They have to try to take him alive, given his allegations. The DoJ should already be telling them this.

Apparently the guys who were shot today were Forestry Service. Great idea, to send a couple of forest rangers up against an angry ex-cop and military veteran. I suppose they were trying to make use of as many people as possible.

I can't believe an AH-64 hasn't already leveled the place.

@BK: Did you miss the part about it being on fire and having burned down?

I haven't paid attention since this afternoon. The cabin burned down? I guess they didn't want him to get to the press, then, kind of like the old man in the box last week. I suppose next they'll rake his bones out of the charred debris and show pictures on the news of a nice hole in the side of the skull indicating a "self-inflicted gunshot wound".

Apparently the fire started shortly after they sent in tear gas.

(Also, Muso's post "Cabin's on fire now.")

No, I missed that.

What a coincidence. Just like Waco, only they didn't waste any time. I guess they wanted to kill him.

Why bother with an arrest and trial when you can just burn the dude alive? Someone explain to me why they couldn't just wait the guy out.

I think there was some concern he might be able to escape once dark came. That wasn't said, but IIRC, nightfall was mentioned as a concern.

Either because they wanted to silence him, or because, having labeled him a "cop killer", there was just no keeping the other frenzied cops from taking his ass out.

This is a shockingly brutal culmination of this. Everybody is now well aware that gas and smoke grenades are effectively incendiary. They are not supposed to be used to "smoke somebody out" of a residential structure anymore. You would only fire them into a house if you are preparing to breach (and it is therefore likely to have the ability to put out any fires), or in an emergency to provide suppression of fire or concealment (for example, to extract wounded).

This reminds me of Waco, and it reminds me of the "capture" of John Wilkes Booth (whom they roasted in a barn). I wonder how much control the authorities had over the situation, or if the cops descended on him like a pack of wild dogs.

Nothin' left but a charred corpse. They let the fire burn for a good two hours to make sure he was good and dead.

President Orders Flags to Half Staff for Activist Dorner

Quote:
Dear Comrades,

On news of the heroic death of Social Justice Activist Christopher Dorner, Comrade Party Chairman and President Barack Barackovich Obama has ordered all flags to be flown at half-staff until his remains are brought to Washington DC for interment at Arlington National Cemetery. In addition, three days of official mourning have been ordered, and all non-essential Federal workers have been given paid leave to participate in tribute activities.

Comrade Dorner’s social activism began when he witnessed the oppression and brutalization of a prisoner while he was working as a police officer with the Los Angeles Police Department.

When his pleas for justice were turned around on him and he was denounced by fellow officers to filing a false report, Comrade Dorner quickly escalated his grievance proceedings, leading to further persecution which eventually forced him to engage in armed activities for the sake of the workers and peasants of the USSA.

As aggressive and counter-revolutionary elements entrenched within local police forces resisted his valiant efforts to bring justice to the oppressed masses of Los Angeles, fellow union activists and Party officials spoke out on his behalf.

Comrade Charlie Sheen of the Screen Actors Guild endorsed Comrade Dorner’s heroism and offered to assist him in struggle, while Party leader Comrade Jesse Jackson also offered his support.

On hearing news that Comrade Dorner died in an accidental fire at the cottage he was staying at while writing the second volume of his manifesto, Comrade Obama was reported to have said, “If I had a brother who was completely black, he would have looked like Chris.” However, the President is still in grief and has offered no official statement at this time.

Comrade Dorner was a loyal supporter for Comrade Obama, and spoke out against the bourgeois attacks on the President. Many expected that the President would mention him during the State of the Union speech given last night, but news of Dorner’s death reached to the President after his speech, which was universally received as a history and visionary soliloquy.

The Department of Social Justice is expected to begin a formal investigation, and patriotic citizens are encouraged to denounce police officials who they know to have oppressed Comrade Dorner.

is it 'him' or just another victim left by him, while he sneaked away?

Indeed. You don't need to burn down the place and kill him unless he comes out guns blazing.

Or maybe the cops charred another innocent citizen.
